Pearl Jam
Few pictures from the last week. Last Thursday was thanksgiving so Erica and myself went down to Uncle Mikes yee haa BBQ shack for all you can eat turkey.
And then we went to Pearl Jam. Awesome show. Great atmosphere. They played for ages and did all the greats.
Mr Vedder on the big screen.

Reasonably excited before the show...
Ben Harper and Pearl Jam
Neil Finn came on. NZ classic stuff 30000 people all singing.
10 minute version of rockin the free world ending the show and the tour for them all.
Next morning having curry for brunch at John Key's(Prime Minister of NZ) favourite Indian when in Christchurch. It was so good we went back there for dinner. It was still good.
Shared the flight back on the pencil plane with 5 juvenile Kiwi birds who were about to be let back into the wild over in Haast. Very quiet.
Token Louie shot.
Mt Aspiring from the light aircraft.
Milford Sound.

Windy Wanaka
Awesome sailing this afternoon. West wind so sailing in the bay in town. It was very strong, probably 30 knot gusts, 4.0 for me and a bit bigger for the boys. Some great jumps and a bit of fun wave sliding on the inside.
d'Artagnan resting his arms. movember is halfway through
Fredrik flying through the inside.
And jumping on the outside.
Bastian jibing through the waves.
Just need to get the tail out the water and this would be a jump...

This post is for Louie. He is maybe fully grown now. We missed him on our trip but he stayed with a great family and was vwy well looked after. They have 4 kids under 8 years old so was entertained constantly. I think that coming home was a little boring for the wee fella but he his back to normal now.

Bath time. For a lap dog he spends a lot of time digging holes and roaming the garden chasing rabbits. Yet to catch one but gets very grubby in the process.
Some pics from the last few months. Here's Erica and I at Brad and Trish's wedding up at Ohau. Lovely day. Great weather. A top day out.
And then we went to Melbourne. There is a great cycle track around the whole of the CBD and surrounds. We found this cool climbing wall. Erica scaled it.
And then got in a bit of a pickle trying to ride her bike down a big set of steps. Oh dear.

Had a great time catching up Mik and Sophie. He is still the same. Top boy.
He managed to sort us out with a trick place to stay. Penthouse apartment. Views all over Melbourne, pool on the roof. Beer. I got all misty eyed.

We took a road trip up to Ohau with Erica's friends from the US. It was very windy. Took theses videos up at Mt Cook. The dust blowing up from the river flats on Lake Pukaki and Erica and Nicki getting some gravel in their teeth near Kea Point.
We took a jet boat ride up the Matukituki Valley towards Mt Aspiring. Absolutely stunning day and great fun thrashing along in the shallow water.

Louie is now 3 months old. Here is a little video of the wee tyke. He is a lot of fun and very loyal and affectionate. Just like me. After a few beers. You may have to hold your PC on its side to watch this.
We have been having a lot of fun going to puppy school with him where he is the smallest by far. All the other pups don't know what to make of him being so little. He holds his own though, giving the other dogs a bit of a swipe if they take too much.

Young Mik from Perth came to visit with Sophie. Good times with them, if a little low key. We were busy and only managed a day up at Treble Cone but it was great to go riding with the old boy again.
Whats he pointing at?
I did score a day up at Ohau last week. 30cms on a bed of ice equals avalanche. Of which there was many. One had slid down through the car park and into the groomer shed and gone on to take out the learners lift. Carnage. Luckily no one hurt. And the riding was great.

Any as you can see not too many people about.
The lake at Ohau looking very placid.
We had a massive earthquake down this way. 7.8 on the Richter Scale down near Milford Sound. Was about 6 something here in Wanaka and we really knew about it. A tsunami warning was issued for Australia but unfortunately nothing came of it.
